Leandro Reyes

Bearer of a storytelling family’s lasting legacy, Leandro Reyes—the great-grandson of Severino “Lola Basyang” Reyes—brings the craft of tale-telling into the now. Known in the scene as The Basyang Kid, he merges performance poetry, theater, and community-building to shape spoken word into both art and ecosystem. Drawing from his training in theater arts, his poetry is physical, vulnerable, often described as “poetry with a surprise center.” It does not only ask to be heard—it asks to be held.
