Composer and music practitioner Kaan Bautista leads this class on music scoring using a practical home-studio setup. It focuses on flexible, foundational skills for scoring film, video, and theater.

Participants will learn how to build a simple scoring workflow using accessible tools such as a laptop, MIDI controller, headphones, and any DAW. By the end of the session, learners will have completed a short score for a Filipino video sample.

This class may be taken at PHP 2000.

Kaan Bautista

Kaan Bautista (@kabaitanbautista) is a multidisciplinary Filipino artist with a focus on music, theater, and sound design, actively contributing to the performing arts community in the Philippines. He is known as an artist-teacher at the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), a valuable senior member and mentor for his work in composition, film scoring, and sound design for various productions. Recently, he was the Musical Director, Arranger, and Sound Designer of the play, Si Faust, a rock opera adaptation of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Faust, reimagined with the music of Filipino rock band Wolfgang that ran at Areté in Ateneo de Manila University.
